Automate the Ordinary, Protect the Irreplaceable: AI for Independent Musicians
Coach: Josh Savage
Singer-songwriter, self-managed artist, playing live since 2011, over 700 shows in more than 160 cities, runs Sofar Sounds in Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Nuremberg and Leipzig.
Most independent musicians spend more time on admin than on music. Emails, pitches and paperwork eat the hours meant for writing and playing. This workshop shows you how to hand the ordinary work to AI. That frees you for what only you can do: the songs, the shows and the people who come to them.
Josh Savage runs his own music career and Sofar Sounds in five German cities. Sofar hosts secret concerts where guests book without knowing the artists or the venue. AI tools now handle much of his planning, research and admin. That leaves more of his time for the human side: artists, hosts, volunteers and audiences. He’ll show you exactly how he does it. Then you’ll try it on your own work during the session.
What we’ll cover:
– Setting up an assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) that knows your music, goals and voice
– Planning releases, tours and your week
– Researching venues, promoters, playlists and funding calls
– Drafting pitches, press texts and posts that still sound like you
– Clearing admin: emails, setlists, invoices and German letters in plain English
– Where AI helps your creative work and where it should stay out
– Checking facts, protecting your rights and keeping your own voice
Who it’s for: independent and self-managed musicians. No tech experience needed.
Bring a laptop and one real task from your music career. A free AI account is enough. You’ll leave with that task moving and a setup you can keep using.
