SUMMARY:STIMME IM KOPF\, KRAFT IM KÖRPER – MENTALE RESILIENZ FÜR MUSIKER:INNEN
DESCRIPTION:Expertin: Susanne Geisler  \nComposer\, Songwriter\, Lawyer\, Creative Coach for Neurodivergent Artists\, Music for Film and TV\, Synesthetic Composer \nPart 1 – Die Stimme im Kopf\nFokus: Selbstkritik\, Vergleich & innerer Druck \nViele Musiker:innen kennen sie: die innere Stimme\, die bewertet\, vergleicht und unter Druck setzt.

SUMMARY:Holding the Band Together
DESCRIPTION:When You’re the One Keeping It Together \nCoach: Simon Hoffmann \nTaking responsibility for bands\, projects\, and grant applications can feel meaningful — and frustrating. Many artists find themselves holding the overview\, managing multiple tasks and “hats”\, navigating tensions\, and keeping things moving alone\, often without feeling seen or supported. \nThis workshop offers practical tools for artists who carry responsibility in complex creative environments. We will explore how to communicate more clearly\, regulate emotions in challenging group dynamics\, and create more sustainable ways of working together. \nWith Simon Hoffmann\, Berlin-based cellist and systemic coach. Simon consults dozens of startups on how to navigate complex work environments.

SUMMARY:How the Modern Music Industry Actually Works
DESCRIPTION:The music industry is often presented as a collection of disconnected parts: labels\, managers\, publishers\, distributors\, booking agents and streaming platforms. But understanding how these pieces fit together is often more valuable than understanding any single role in isolation. \nThis interactive workshop is designed for independent artists\, self-managing musicians\, emerging managers and anyone looking to better understand the business side of music. Together we’ll explore how the modern music industry actually functions\, how money and rights move through the system\, and how different industry professionals support an artist’s career at different stages of development. \nThrough real-world examples\, discussion and practical exercises\, participants will learn how the recording industry\, publishing\, live performance\, management\, distribution\, sync licensing and collection societies connect. We’ll also examine common industry myths\, discuss whether artists really need every part of the traditional industry structure\, and explore how independent artists can make informed decisions about building their team. \nBy the end of the session\, participants will have a clearer understanding of how the music industry works as a whole\, how revenue flows through the ecosystem\, and how to navigate their own careers with greater confidence.

SUMMARY:How 2 Tour Internationally
DESCRIPTION:Expert: Jamila Al-Yousef \nMusician\, Theater maker\, Festival Curator\, and anti-discrimination Consultant \nTouring internationally as an independent artist can feel overwhelming\, especially when you don’t have an agency\, big budgets or existing industry connections. This workshop shares practical strategies and lived experiences on how to build sustainable international networks\, book your own concerts abroad\, and create opportunities beyond traditional music industry pathways. \nAt the same time\, international touring can be deeply joyful and transformative. It creates spaces for cultural exchange\, solidarity\, inspiration\, and meaningful human connection across borders. The workshop also reflects on the fact that being able to travel and tour internationally is a privilege that is shaped by passports\, visas\, financial resources\, and global inequalities. \nTogether\, we will look at topics such as: \n\ninternational networking and relationship building\nbooking DIY tours and concerts abroad\nshowcase festivals and conference strategies\nfinancing & funding opportunities (i.e. Initiative Musik export funding\, Goethe Institute\, BMC Music Ambassador\, residencies…)\n\nThe workshop is especially aimed at independent\, emerging and marginalized artists who want to develop international perspectives and sustainable touring practices outside mainstream industry structures.\n\n\nAbout the facilitator:\n\nJamila Al-Yousef is a Berlin-based cultural studies scholar\, musician\, theater maker\, festival curator\, and anti-discrimination consultant. With her internationally touring band Jamila & The Other Heroes she blends psychedelic desert rock with a message of collective liberation. Born in East Berlin on the day the Wall fell and shaped by her Palestinian heritage\, her music channels revolutionary energy and diasporic stories into songs of liberation\, empowerment\, and healing. Singing in Arabic and English\, she creates concerts that are wild\, tender\, and deeply political rituals of unity and defiance. Jamila combines her artistic practice with social justice work\, focusing on power sharing\, anti racism\, empowerment\, and awareness. As a trainer and consultant of cultural organizations\, clubs and festivals\, she works with a power-critical and trauma-informed approach and centers the perspectives of those affected.
